The renewed interest in street clocks has often resulted in the "lipstick on a pig" phenomenon, where elegant, vintage-style clocks are installed in otherwise ugly, uninviting auto strips. But Victoria's famous European ambiance is the perfect setting for these clocks. Here, they still appear as a natural extension of the city's furniture, just as they were when first installed more than a century ago.
