Irish
Times Pub
Though not a
true street clock, the sign at the Irish Times Pub in Butte, Montana
serves as a local icon for residents and travelers, alike, that
dates from the early to mid-1900s. The The Irish Times Pub is
located in the historic The Butte Daily Post Building in Uptown
Butte, Montana.
This former newspaper
building has been carefully restored as an Irish Pub. The Pub's
tables and church pews were imported from Dublin, Ireland and
they are typical of a Victorian-style City Pub. The nude over
the bar is a print of the first nude allowed by the Catholic Church
in Ireland! The prints on the east walls are all from the National
Gallery of Ireland and the Yale Museum of British Art.
