Long banks of
      benches line the sidewalks in front of the Arts and Industries
      Building (above) along the Capitol Mall. Groups of three benches
      alternate with large containers of seasonal tropical planings
      that add color and fragrance to the walking experience.


      
On Capitol Hill
      (below) a massive wrought iron structure takes the award for
      most elaborate bench in Washington D.C. (or anywhere else?).
      The design incorporates a sturdy arbor into the bench design.
      Renovations to this part of the Capitol grounds are underway,
      and hopefully summer vines will once again grace this beautiful
      piece of street furniture.
