Sidewalk Benches Santa Fe Plaza
The Santa Fe Plaza is the oldest public square in the United States, dating to at least the early 1600s, and continues to be the hub of activity today. The design is simple: broad sidewalks radiating from the central plaza to the streets on four sides. But the most important features on the plaza are the trees and benches, where tourists and locals alike can relax in the shade, and take in the sense of history. The Plaza benches are ornate Victorian designs, and closely coordinated with five-globe street lamps that illuminate the plaza. During the day, the benches are usually full with people visiting, eating, relaxing or just people-watching in a town full of eccentrics and celebrities. No trip to Santa Fe is complete without a visit to The Plaza, and a group photo on one of the famous benches!
