Second city to
      Portland, Vancouver USA has been making great strides in rejuvenating
      its historic downtown in recent years. Here, a small fountain
      constructed of native basalt (above) makes a perfect stop for
      downtown visitors. However, backless benches should only be installed
      where you don't want pedestrians to linger for long - they are
      uncomfortable, and difficult for elderly and disabled pedestrians
      to use.
