Along the busy
      Portland transit mall, lanscaping comes in the form of a large
      canopy of London plane trees, and elegant rock gardens held in
      broad concrete planters. This example shows sunloving dwarf spruce
      on the hot south side (left) and shade loving azaleas and sword
      fern on the cool north side (right) of the planter. These are
      tough, year-round installations that require minimal care.
