Where sidewalk
      width or other constraints rule out in-ground landscaping, Lake
      Oswego employs generous raised planters, often constructed with
      treated wood (above). This design is in keeping with the noticeably
      lush planting scheme along 'A' Avenue.

      


      
Smaller ceramic
      planters are employed throughout the street, in some cases framing
      shop entrances (above) where they are freely mixed with merchandize,
      and in other areas concealing unsightly concrete retaining walls
      (below).
