Historic 'C' Street - Virginia City, Nevada Balconies & Overhangs

On 'C' Street, a colorful mix of masonry and wood-frame buildings line the street. Buildings on the downhill side (above) are often built on stilts or with lower floors to compensate for the steep slopes behind. Virtually every structure is built with an overhang (above, at the Silver Queen) or functioning balcony (below) providing almost continuous cover for the street's sidewalks. On-street parking is allowed on both sides of 'C' Street for most of its length.
