Esther Short Park - Vancouver, Washington City Vistas
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the renovated open space are the new vistas from the heart of the park. Several vistas point to the new clock tower and Glockenspiel (above, right), while others lead to the new community that is springing up around the park, or internal features like the bandstand and nearby pioneer sculpture. In this way, the park is much like a square main street, bringing new life and culture to a forgotten area of downtown, and thus helping enliven the rest of Vancouver's historic downtown in the process.
