Main Street - Annapolis, Maryland Sidewalk Planters

Sidewalk amenities on side streets adjoining Main Street are generally provided by storefront owners, often with spectacular results. Here, an antique store on Cornhill Street (above, below) nearly fills the narrow sidwalk with lush planters and a bench. The above image also shows the well-worn cobble surface that is typical of Annapolis side streets.

 Other storefronts use vertical greenery (below) to cope with the narrow sidewalk space. In this view, green and purple ornamental sweet potato vines grow from pots arranged along the shop windows..
