Bricks & Mortar Lake Oswego, Oregon
Lake Oswego has recently completed an outstanding upgrade to 'A' Avenue, the major street that defines the traditional downtown. Paved surfaces show an excellent variety of creative details, ranging from simple textures on sidewalks and crossings (above) to a huge textured and stained concrete medallion that also serves to mark a large speed hump (below). A large, mixed use development is planned for the vacant block in the background. Lake Oswego also has a number of finer details, including adjustable iron street tree grates (below) that can be expanded to allow for a larger trunk, and decorative trench grates set in a large, multi-colored paved plaza (bottom)
